En 2011, Saeed la vingtaine, étudiant ingénieur, quitte Damas pour Douma (Ghouta orientale) et participer à la révolution syrienne. Il sera rejoint plus tard par son ami Milad, peintre et sculpteur, alors étudiant aux beaux-arts de Damas.[2]
